The most distinctive feature of the TENZ wood construction screw is the Stairs thread technology. The steps on the thread create an oscillating motion that is entirely new for wood construction screws and atypical for a screw. The resulting constant loading and unloading extends the service life of cordless screwdrivers and, in particular, reduces strain on the wrist.
The screwdriving technology developed by TENZ was scientifically monitored and validated throughout all phases of development. Laboratory tests at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) confirm a significant reduction in the force and energy required for screwdriving. Supplementary studies by Graz University of Technology demonstrate that the oscillating screw-driving motion and the reduced torque of TENZ technology increase the service life of screwdrivers by a factor of 10.
